Getting Around Cologne

Cologne/Bonn
Cologne/Bonn airport is 17 km south-east of the city centre. The journey to the city centre takes around 15 minutes by car or S-Bahn (shuttle number S 13). The train costs €2.10 for a single ticket and departs every twenty minutes from the Hauptbahnhof to the airport (from 4.21 to 0.41 on weekdays). On Saturdays and Sundays the train runs every half an hour and the last train leaves at 23.11. A taxi costs around € 25.

Public transport
A good transport system with an integrated network covering the area from Bonn to the Ruhr district. If you plan to see all the sights, it may be worth buying a Köln WelcomeCard which costs € 9 for one day and covers the entire train and bus network (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg - VRS). It also offers discounts on entry to 70 different sights and reduced prices at some restaurants.

Taxi
The taxis are cream-colored. All registered taxi drivers have a license with a number on display where it is visible to passengers. Examples: Taxi Ruf or Grossraumtaxi Köln.
